Ready, Set, GO GO GO GO GO GO GO!

Matt & I have decided that it is official, Emory is walking! For a few weeks, he has been walking back & forth between the 2 of us, or from us to a piece of furniture. But yesterday & today he has taken off! He walked from me, right out of the living room, into the kitchen last night. I thought he was going for the steps (one of his favorite things to do), but he b-lined it into the kitchen. Ok, seriously, I always am saying how cute he is, but watching him weeble-wobble into the kitchen was just the cutest. And his little giggles as he goes are even better...he is so proud. Occasionally he will cheer himself on with a little "Go! Go! Go!" Adorable.
After school today, I took him & Cam to the library. Emory just walked here, there & everywhere. From the puzzle table, to the book shelves, to the train table, to me, to the table/chairs...all over the place! He doesn't even think about it now, he just goes. He also recently discovered that he could get himself up onto & sit on children's chairs. He must have gotten onto & off of the same chair 10 times in 2 minutes. Again...he is just so proud.
Tonight after his "tub tub" Matt & Cameron came upstairs where Em & I were snuggling on our bed. Since Matt & Cam were walking around, Emory decided he wanted to as well, in the buff. Again, TOO CUTE! His naked little hiney weeble-wobbling around our room, priceless. Then when it was time to get ready for bed, he walked his little self right down the hallway into his room & I followed behind him.
Now instead of taking the next 20 weeks to start walking, I am sure he will be taking the next 20 weeks (before his baby brother comes) to perfect his running. Oh my goodness, what are we in for?!?
On another note, this kid has a ton of love. This morning he was lying on his changing table, as I started to change his diap & he looked up at me & puckered up (without instigation) to ask me for a kiss. Then on the way to school, he kept blowing me kisses from the backseat. I think we are doing a pretty good job showing our little man what love is & exactly how to show it!
We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE you, Emory Vaughan!

We found out today that our next baby will be another boy! And no, we didn't plan the wearing of blue today, it just worked out that way! We are so blessed to have 2 healthy & happy boys & can't wait to see what our next boy will throw into the mix. This is what Mom forsees for the next 18 years....
- Skinned knees & boo-boos
- Large grocery bills
- Dirt...everywhere!
- Fingerprints on walls
- Dishes upon dishes
- Holey-pants
- Cars, balls, action figures galore!
- Running, jumping, climbing = Falling
- Worms
- Daddy-Sons time spent outside while Mommy gets some quiet time
- Getting spoiled by 4 men on Mother's Days
- Girls knocking down our door b/c they are all so darn cute & charming
- Hugs & kisses & hugs & kisses b/c they will all be Momma's Boys :)
I am thrilled beyond belief to give Cameron & Emory another brother to grow with & to love. Like my Dad said, he always wished he had a brother & I know how special it is going to be for our boys to have eachother. I can already picture the 3 of them standing tall above me one day, as handsome as ever. But for now, I am just going to eat up all of the little hugs & kisses that I get :)

Happy 14 Month Birthday, Emory Vaughan!

Every month that passes, I tell myself, I can't believe that Emory is another month older. Like they say, time flies when you are having fun & having our Emory is the most fun ever!
So let's see, what is he up to nowadays
- Holding steady around 20 lbs, but seems to be shooting up in height
- Mostly wearing size 12 month clothing, with very little 18 month thrown into the mix
- Size 3 diapers
- Still wearing his bucket brace at night
- Talking up a storm...some new words he has said are "Wawa" (making Daddy oh-so-proud), "Nanron" (which means Cameron), "bubble," "shoes," "dirt," & he says something (un-translatable) in response to being told "I love you." He also started saying "Cool!" yesterday & it sounds so so so cute!
- Will walk & walk & walk for days while holding someone's hand
- On occasion will scream at the top of his lungs if he is not happy with something
- Gives hugs & kisses ("Mmmmm sound effect & all) like CRAZY & we LOVE it!
- Enjoys playing in his crib when he wakes up from naps
- Has so much fun playing ball
- Is starting to learn colors & tries to repeat their names
- Loves to have his feet rubbed
- Is very ticklish
- Likes wearing Mommy's or Daddy's sunglasses
- Loves things put onto his head
- Is in a hitting phase & gets very emortionally hurt when he gets told "No"
- On occasion has thrown out the lower lip into pouting mode
- Throws his food on the floor to say that he is done eating, but is starting to say "Done!"
- Waves & blows kisses to anyone & everyone
- Loves to flirt with people when we are out to eat or at a store
- Continues to be the sweetest, happiest, most loving little boy on the planet!
Happy 14 month birthday, Baby Boy! You make me the happiest woman on the planet every single day!

Busy, busy, busy!

Mommy & her Babies :)

That has been us since we got home from vacation! Running here, there & everywhere. Swimming, baseball practice, work, doctor appointments...and the list goes on. Emmy was sick earlier this week & is finally getting over it. He woke up in the middle of the night crying (which barely ever happens) & wouldn't stop. I went to check on him & the poor little dude had made a mess all over himself :( Being the good mother that I am (never could've pictured doing this 14+ months ago), I swooped him up covered in throw up, snuggled him, then stripped him down for a bath, while Daddy cleaned up his crib. I've never seen such confusion on this kid's face as when we put him in the tub at 2 am. Pretty amazing that we made it 14 months to our first middle of the night tubby! Thankfully he went back to bed & only suffered from a case of the "very sleepies" & liquid poo for a few days. He slept from 6:30 Monday night to noon on Wednesday! He is almost back to normal now...4 days later.
Em is also doing great walking. He can go pretty much all the way across the living room before crashing. It is adorable & he looks SOOOO proud of himself. Tonight as we walked to Iron Hill from our parking spot, he held Cam & my hands & just smiled & laughed the whole way.
It is amazing that he isn't such a tiny baby anymore. Tonight as I held him before putting him in his crib, I was thinking how he is outgrowing that horizontal position laying in Mommy's arms. He little legs dangle off of the side of my lap. Emory & I now enjoy a few quiet minutes before I put him in his crib & he typically just lays there & sucks his thumb & looks at me. I can't help but wonder what he is thinking about. Tonight he kind of showed me...I was just staring at his sweet little face, walking to him & he stopped sucking his thumb, pushed himself up out of my arms & wrapped his arms around my neck & gave me the sweetest hug. :) :) :) I love that he now shows us affection with hugs & kisses. He even tries to say "I love you" which I think is amazing.
Everyday we are starting to think about our new reality come September. I can't imagine how our love as a family will grow when Cam & Emory's new baby brother (or sister) arrives. At dinner Matt said "Do you think it is possible that the new baby will be as cute as Emory?" So funny...I think the new baby will either be Emory's clone or a total opposite (aka more Matt-like). Time will tell :)

Last week we took a trip to visit Grandma & Grandpa Sitko in Florida. Mommy was soooooooooooooooooooo nervous about flying with Em this time around. Knowing our little bundle of energy doesn't like to sit still, we weren't sure what to expect. Thankfully, Em cooperated & was very entertained by Mommy, Daddy, Cam & Grandma on the plane & not once did he cry or get overly fussy.
We did lots of fun things in Florida! We took Emory for his first visit to Anna Maria Island, where he spent the afternoon walking around, dipping his toes in the water & playing in (and eating) the sand. He really loved the water. He also loved swimming in the pool. He actually started saying "pool." Anytime we were outside, he wanted to be in the water. Emory & Cam had fun seeing his Great Grandparents on the Clair side. We spent the morning with them & Emory was happy to entertain us all. On Easter morning, the boys did an Easter Egg Hunt & Emory actually knew what to do. It was adorable as he waddled around in his jammies with his bunny ears perfectly placed on his head :) Sunday afternoon/evening we spent with Uncle Larry, Uncle Karl & Grandma Ruth. Emory showed off his swimming skills & all of his "tricks." I think Emory's favorite part of the trip was spending time with Grandpa. He LOVES LOVES LOVES just sitting on Grandpa Sitko's lap & would actually pick being held by Grandpa over being held by Mommy!
The downside of our trip was our emergency trip to the Urgent Care Center on Saturday morning, when Emory fell, head-first, into Grandma & Grandpa's coffee table. It was NOT fun, but Em got his first popcicle as a treat after his visit. Of course...he loved it!
Thanks to Grandma & Grandpa Sitko for a nice, relaxing & fun week! We can't wait to come back again soon!
