Back to Work

Dear Baby Emory,
Well, tomorrow Mommy goes back to work full-time & that means you will go to the babysitter full-time. The past almost year of my life being home with you has been the most amazing year of my life. My favorite part of the day was always getting you out of your crib & bringing you into my bed to drink your morning bottle. Nowadays, you have no desire to lay down & snuggle while you drink it, but none the less, I treasure those memories. Being with you almost every moment of every day has been so special & we are so fortunate to have had that time together. I am sad to think that I will have to miss some of those smiles & laughs & babbles, but I know that Jen will care for you & love you & be just as entertained by your amazing personality.
We've had so much fun going shopping, to the Y, to the park & everywhere else. You have been the best partner in crime! Now our time together will be a little more limited, but just as special, if not more special. You are going to have SUCH a fun time with Jen & your new friend Issac. You are going to teach Issac how to talk & he is going to teach you how to walk. You have grown into such a big boy & I am going to miss being with you all day. But know, that I will be thinking about you & looking at your pictures every free moment that I get. You will not remember this year that we've spent at home together, but hopefully when you are old enough to look back at pictures & read this blog, you will realize how special our time has been. You are going to do great tomorrow & hopefully Mommy does ok too. I am already looking forward to 2:50 tomorrow when I can leave school & come pick you up. You are the best & I love you so very much. Hopefully in me going back to work full-time, we will be able to do lots & lots of more fun stuff together at night & on the weekend with Daddy & Cameron. I wish we could win the lottery & Mommy could stay home forever, but for now...I love you! I love you! I love you! ...and Mommy's love is the most important thing that she can give you all day everyday, whether we are together or apart.
Love,
Mommy

Please Touch Museum

Since it was Mommy's last official day before going back to work, we decided to do something fun for the day. We took Emory to the Please Touch Museum in Philadelphia. I was a little hesitant b/c he is still so little, but he LOVED it! He loved crawling around from place to place, just checking everything out. He loved looking at all of the sights & hearing all of the sounds. We had a really great time watching him play.
When we arrived, there was live music & we listened & Emory watched the drummer. Then we went to the tree exhibit. Emory got to crawl inside of a tree with Daddy, walk on lily pads, went down a slide & played in a river. We also built a birdhouse & went on a carousel ride....but it wasn't Emory's first. Lol! He was on a carousel at 6 weeks in Disneyworld! Then we checked out Alice in Wonderland & saw a fun mirror maze & Fairytale Garden. Emory got to milk a pretend cow. Lastly we went to city capers, where Emory got to play in a pretend garden & house. He loved trying to push the flowers in the cart. Emory got a ball as a souvenir, that he has already played with with Daddy.
Then we stopped at Reading Terminal Market to get some world famous Delilah's macaroni & cheese. Emory got to try it & he also really liked the corn bread. For dessert (other than the 3 cannoli & 5 cupcakes that we brought home) we all shared a fresh, warm apple dumpling!
We had a great day together!

Baby Dziadziu

Everyone always says that Emory looks like a miniature version of my late Grandfather. I saw this shirt at Target & just HAD to get it for him! It looks just like one that my Grandfather used to wear (but not the one that my Grandfather is wearing in the picture). I also realized when I found this picture of Dziadziu, that he LOVED Layla. He would always complain about dogs, but he just had a thing with Layla & now Emory has that same "thing" for her too. Although Emory's idea of loving Layla is smacking her, it is love all the same :)

Face Plant

I have been terrible at posting this month. I think Emory is keeping me too busy with all the moving & shaking he has been doing. So here are some random things...
- He had his first major face plant today. After the 3 of us got home from running errands, he was playing for a little while before "night night" time & he just went face first into the floor. Our poor baby...it broke my heart. I am kind of thinking he might wake up with a fat lip tomorrow.
- He had his first Happy Meal tonight. I know...Matt & I don't eat regular fast food, but we were out running around & wanted to stop & get salads, so we stopped & got Emory a hamburger Happy Meal first. I made Matt "blot" off the burger grease before we gave it to him. Lol. He loved every second of it...hamburger, fries & milk.
- Emory & I are spending our last week together before I go back to teaching full time. I am dreading leaving him. I cry just thinking about it, but I know it is for the best & he will be in such great hands at his babysitter's house. And he will even have a little friend to play with. I almost think Emory knows something is up b/c he has been super snuggly with me during the day. We haven't really gone anywhere, we just hang out, play & snuggle all day. I love it & can't wait until summer so that we can do it again.
- We are in the midst of planning Emory's first birthday party. We are so excited to celebrate. I can't believe it has been a whole year since his birth. He has made every day so amazing for Matt, myself & Cameron. He is such an amazing light in all of our lives.
- He is all about mimicing us. When we "click" our gum, he "clicks" his tongue. When we tilt our head to the side, he does the same. It is so cute.

Happy 11 Month Birthday, Emmy!

I think it is Emory's calling every month to make it more difficult than the past month at taking his monthly picture.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This month has been a big one for our big boy. I swear, he became a big boy overnight.
- You now now how to clap the right way, as opposed to "Polish Pattycake"
- You love to "flick" your lips while you make noise when you are bored to make a silly noise
- You make a shocked face when we say "Surprise!" It is Mommy's favorite trick.
- You started crawling on all fours
- You stand by yourself for a few seconds
- You learned how to blow real bubbles in the pool
- You weigh 20 lbs & wear a size 3 diaper
- You are wearing 12 month clothing, but it is getting snug
- You love to empty drawers, tissue boxes, etc
- You tried to eat Layla's dog food & love to play in her water bowl
- You eat mostly table food now (chicken nuggets, macaroni & cheese, toast, pancakes, waffles, pasta, meatballs, cheerios, cream cheese & jelly sandwiches, cheese, peas, green beans, beets, apples, blueberries, etc)
- You stand up in your crib
- You love climbing the steps
- You pull yourself up on everything!
- You pretend to talk into Mommy's cellphone
- You drink mostly out of a sippy, except first thing in the morning & before bed
- You can turn the pages in your books
- You love your peek-a-boo books
- You started drinking real milk
- You love playing Patty Cake with Mommy
- You always want to try what Mommy & Daddy are eating & tell us by shrill screams
- You have eaten every single thing that has come across your tray
- You moved into a booster seat
- You love taking tubbies & kicking the water
- You think it is so funny when you crawl away from Mommy & Daddy & we chase you
- You found Layla's doggy door
- You say "Layla, dog, duck & book"
- You dance when you hear music by bobbing your head & scooting your hiney on the floor
- You started to cry when Mommy leaves you :(
- You love you so much because are PERFECT in every single way & we can't wait to see what this next month brings!

Baby Names

Matt & I have already started throwing names around for Baby Fleischman 2.0 :) He still likes Cambria for a girl, but I am not sure that I want to use that name this time around. We have such a hard time agreeing on names & I can tell it will be the same way again! I heard the name "Aven" today for a girl & I really like it. I haven't asked Matt his opinion yet. And boy names....we all know that we have a hard time with them. Thank God Emory has a name that we both still love & fits him so perfectly :)

Daydreaming

Matt & I have been talking alot about the new baby. We are both so thrilled to be blessed with another pregnancy & are hoping for the best. We were talking last night about how Emory will "handle" a baby. It is kind of funny to think about, b/c he IS the baby. He is SUCH a boy & we can only imagine that he will not be that kind & gentle soul, like Cameron. He is rough & tumble & there is no way around it & we love that about him. We talked about "if" we have another baby with Cameron last night & he said that he would want another brother. We can't quite get out of him why, but he has no interest in a sister whatsoever. We haven't decided yet if we will find out the sex of the baby. Part of me wants to know & part of me doesn't. I think the part of me that wants to know is thinking that if the baby is a girl, I want to go all out in preparing for her & make her room as girlie as Matt will allow. Lol! We will see, we still have a little time to decide.
One thing we have decided is that, God-willing, we will have our first appointment before Emory's 1st birthday party & we will let him announce the big news. I ordered a t-shirt that says "I am going to be a big brother!" & we will have him open it at his party. We think it will be fun. At that point I will be about 10.5 weeks pregnant.
I am feeling very good so far, tired, but that is about it. I felt the same way early in my pregnancy with Emory & am hoping that this pregnancy carries out in the same fashion.
Well, that is about all for now. Life is good & we are enjoying every second of Emory & daydreaming about what life will be like with not 1, not 2, but 3 children!!!!!

Adios Picture Perfect Hair!

I noticed after I posted all of the new videos that Emory looks similar to Albert Einstein in most of them. Every since the day he was born, I was always conscious to "comb" his hair over to the side & make him look handsome. Many people comment, strangers included, on how nice his hair looked. Well no matter what I do nowadays, his hair does whatever it wants to do & most of the time that means it is sticking up all over the place. I don't think he has enough for a haircut yet, but he has quite a "do" going on for now!

Videos!

Since we've been taking many more videos than pictures, here is a glimpse of all of the fun things that Emory has been doing lately! (Happy, Mom??)

Happy New Year 2010, Part II!

Looks like we "fished our wish" for this year & we are only 5 days into the new year. I'd been feeling a little weird (bloated, tired, skin broke out) over the past 2 days, so I took a test & got a big, fat "Yes+." We are a little hesitant to get too excited this early on, but we have already thought of many things that this means for our family. Right now I am 4 weeks pregnant (whoa...it was quite a reality check simply typing that) & looks like Baby Fleischman #2 will be set to arrive sometime around September 15, 2010.
My plan is to document our pregnancy right here, but to save all of the posts & publish them once our healthy, happy baby boy or girl arrives!

Happy New Year!

Emory started his NYE celebration by having a playdate with his buddy, Greyson.

Then he got all dressed up into his party clothes!

He had lots of fun playing at Cheetah & Jimmy's new house.

He liked celebrating his first New Year's eve with Mommy & Daddy, but we know he missed his big brother.

Finally around 10:30, Emory was done partying & was ready for bed. He is so excited to learn & do new things in 2010!
